Keaton Beach Fishing Report February 20 -21

"Trout fishing in the creeks" continues to be the cry with folks over the weekend finding nothing going on on the flats. Water temps had dropped below 53 degrees in the creeks and they had slowed; while the Gulf dipped below 50 for a day or so.
Saturday, I saw Paul Lader and Stan Hall of Macon, Georgia cleaning their limit of ten trout caught "in a creek" on #52 MirrOlures, Gulp and a suspending "Live Target" bait. Paul reported his bite was better early 8 - 11:00 (Hi tide was 11:12 a.m.) and said things ground to a halt when the water quit moving.
That's all I've got except to say it will be tough with this new cold front; but that should move some trout into the creeks and that bite should resume in three or four days when it warms back up.

Saw some folks while in Mayo at Bass Assassin  who limited out at Dallus Creek, Saturday. They were throwing live shrimp on a light Pro Elite Assassin jighead.

Oh and by the way, I will be working the Assassin booth at the Channel 8 Tampa Outdoor Expo and Boat show in Tampa next weekend February 27, 28 - March 1 at the Tampa Fairgrounds so  come by booth #601 and see me!
