Keaton Beach Fishing Report February 13-14 2015
Well, I actually made it out on the water with Capt, Dave Malone, last Friday and we slipped into a creek only to find a boat sitting on the hole we wanted to fish. We eased in near, but not too close and managed to get 5 trout. The Georgia boat had their limit and I am sorry I didn't get their names.
We caught 3 of our trout on MirrOlure's TT series 51M lures, the other two on Gulp. The bite was the last two hours of the incoming tide and was done when the water quit moving. The water temperature in the Gulf was 51 degrees while the warmest in the creek was 55.
Over the weekend several boats had their limits in the creeks; like Cornell and Alice Silveira of Cedar Island. Vince Russo was spotted in a creek up north of Spring Warrior catching trout with a few more boats in that same creek.
This weekend's cold front will certainly not help the flats with water temps already hovering around 50 degrees; but the creek anglers may prefer it cold. I can't say I know enough about that to comment on it? Spring! Hurry Up!
