Keaton Report Sept 14 - 15 2018
/Keaton Beach report September 14 –15 2018
Trout were biting this past week, when the breeze would carry you, but they would hold off
when it would cause you to hover...pretty much a common problem while drift fishing the grass flats.
We managed 8 trout for the Mike Sugar trip Saturday and did a kind of “bus stop” style of fishing picking up one here and one on the next stop and finally getting three fish on the final drift of the day. Missed a few, but generally it was slow with only the breeze to blame, cause we had Great folks and Great bait and they just weren’t that interested in us.
The Zach Knowles benefit Tourney out of Rockys on 98 came in as follows:
Trout
Ashley Mock 3.18
Steve Taylor 2.83
Arthur Wilson 2.18
Red
Arthur Wilson 5.60
Jordan Tyler 5.44
Phillip Shiver 4.70
wish I had more but that’s what I have and all I can tell you is if that crew only came in with one 3 pound trout...man, the fishing was tough!
Jimmy Douglas went Tuesday, with Curtis Johnson, and Jimmy Benefield all from Homerville, Ga. and they brought in a limit of good trout to 19” fishing with live pinfish under Back Bays and Cajun Thunders from 5 – 6 feet of water.
