Keaton Beach Fishing Report 8/8-9/14

Trout continue to eat live pinfish under Back Bay Thunders and are hitting topwater baits early in shallower water when you can find a clear(floating grass) place to work them. Try the outgoing tides for best topwater results.
Billy Pillow of Woods 'N Water Magazine took his son-in-law and grandson Ralph and Blake Plaza respectively from Orlando, FL. out for an hour-and-a-half Saturday and they brought back four trout, including a monster 28 inch long Sow trout which Billy caught on a live pinfish under a Back Bay Thunder. This trio was fishing in 4.5 - 5.5 feet of water. They also caught some jacks and catfish.
Wes Blue of Perry, Florida went Tuesday and landed his limit of five trout and was back at the ramp by 10:00 a.m. while using Zara Spooks for three of the fish and Gulp under a Cajun for the balance. Wes also reported several Sailcats blasting his topwater baits.
Other reports of limits Saturday came from Aucilla, Econfina, Hickory Mound and Fenholloway, so Don't let the Hot weather talk you out of going.
That's it... except to say they are still getting scallops at Keaton... mostly from 4' - 6' of water.
